Where do I start? How do I use the AI? +

I installed the extension, but can't see the icon. What should I do? +
Ensure the extension is enabled in chrome://extensions. If the icon is still hidden, click the Chrome menu (three vertical dots, top right) and pin the extension to your toolbar for easy access.
I bought a subscription, but it says I don't have a valid one. +
First, log out of your account and then log back in — this re-syncs your subscription status. Contact support if that doesn't resolve it.
What happened to McGraw Hill Smartbook support? +
Support for McGraw Hill Smartbooks has ended due to legal reasons. We appreciate your understanding and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.
How does the Apex Vision AI Chrome extension work? +
Our extension uses advanced AI to analyze questions and provide accurate, step-by-step help in real time. Activate the extension, click “Get Answer,” and the system generates the solution.
Is Apex Vision AI detectable? +
No. Apex Vision AI operates discreetly within your browser without interacting with sites in a detectable way. It simply provides AI-generated answers and study tips when you request them, keeping your usage private.
Is the extension detectable by Canvas? +
We tested extensively on Canvas (using a Canvas Teacher account) to ensure it is not detectable. We do advise against submitting quizzes or tests unusually fast, as that can raise red flags.
How do I hide the on-screen Canvas / Smartbook buttons? +
Open the extension settings, locate the “Hide On-Screen Buttons” option, and toggle it on. Toggle “Show On-Screen Buttons” to revert.
Can the extension help with essay questions? +
While our AI is primarily designed for multiple-choice questions, it can assist with essay & short-answer questions through our versatile side panel.
02 · Usage Issues
Why am I seeing a “No valid subscription” error? +
This means your subscription is expired or invalid. Please check your subscription status or contact support for assistance.
I pressed “Get Answer,” but nothing happened. Why? +
Check your internet connection, ensure your subscription is valid, and try refreshing the page or restarting the browser.
Why is the AI sometimes inaccurate? +
Our AI is continuously improving through advanced machine learning. Accuracy varies by question complexity and subscription tier — premium plans use more advanced models.
How accurate are the answers, and does accuracy vary by plan? +
Accuracy varies across plans because each uses distinct AI models: Knowledge Kickstart ~70% (basic questions), Savvy Scholar ~81% (in-depth topics), Mastermind ~89% (precise answers across challenging subjects). Effectiveness also depends on how clearly questions are presented.
How does the AI handle pages with multiple questions? +
Our tool focuses on one question at a time for accuracy. If a page shows several questions, zoom in (Ctrl + + / ⌘ + +) so only one question is visible — this helps the AI concentrate on the right question.
The extension is behaving erratically. How can I reset it? +
Try logging out and back in. If the issue persists, reinstall the extension and report any persistent problems to our support team.
Sometimes responses take longer than usual. Why? +
Response time can vary with server load, your internet speed, and the complexity of the query — some questions need more in-depth analysis.

What are Apex Vision AI's limitations? +
Apex Vision AI aims for accuracy across subjects but has limits — math and complex calculations are less reliable on plans below the Mastermind tier.
Are there subjects the AI can't help with? +
It covers a broad range including math, science, and English, but may be less effective for highly specialized or advanced subjects outside its core focus areas.

How do I cancel my subscription? +
Go to the My Account tab, click “Subscription,” select “View” on your active subscription, and press “Cancel Subscription.”
How do I upgrade or downgrade my subscription? +
Go to My Account → Subscription, select “View,” then “Upgrade or Downgrade.” Your existing price is prorated toward the new plan.
How do I log out of the extension? +
Click the extension icon and press the “Logout” button.
Is my data safe? What do you do with my chat responses? +
Your privacy matters to us. Chat responses are not stored permanently and are not used for any other purpose — we aim for a seamless, private experience.
How can I delete my account and all associated data? +
