How does a Canvas quiz solver work?

A Canvas quiz solver uses the visible question, answer choices and any diagram to generate an explanation. Apex Vision AI offers on-page help and a side panel for permitted practice and homework. It does not retrieve an instructor’s hidden answer key. Give it the complete problem and check the reasoning before relying on the result.

A useful Canvas quiz solver helps you understand the question in front of you: what it asks, which method applies, and why the answer follows. Here is how to use Apex Vision AI beside Canvas for permitted practice and homework, plus where to find the feedback your instructor makes available.

We publish Apex Vision AI, an independent study tool. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Canvas or Instructure.

What a Canvas quiz solver can help with

Explain answer choices

Include every option and ask why each one fits or fails. This helps when two choices sound plausible but only one matches the passage or definition.

Work through a calculation

Ask for the formula, substitutions and units. Then repeat the calculation yourself and check it against your lesson.

Read a diagram or screenshot

Include the whole figure, labels and question. Ask the helper to read back the values so you can catch a misread axis or symbol.

Turn a mistake into practice

After reviewing a missed question, ask for a similar problem with different numbers. Solve it unaided before revealing the explanation.

An AI explanation comes from the material you provide. It is not Canvas’s official answer key, and it can be wrong. Use it where your instructor allows assistance.

How to use the Canvas quiz solver extension

  1. Install and open Apex. Add Apex Vision AI from the Chrome Web Store, open your Canvas course in Chrome, and launch the extension. Follow the account setup shown there.
  2. Open permitted practice or homework. Bring the complete question into view. Choose an available on-page question control or open the side panel. Controls can vary by page and browser permissions.
  3. Include the relevant context. Provide all choices, the full graph or table, and any passage the question references. Use the image tool for a permitted screenshot when text input is not practical.
  4. Ask for the method and check it. Request a step-by-step explanation, compare it with the lesson, and check the calculation. Investigate any conflict with course feedback.

“Read this question and all the choices. Explain the method, tell me why the other options do not fit, and flag anything you cannot read clearly.”

See the user guide for current controls and the setup guide if you are installing Apex for the first time.

Canvas has both Classic Quizzes and New Quizzes. Page structure and available extension controls may differ. The side panel helps when you need context that a single question control does not include.

Example: check the reasoning behind an answer

Original practice question

A line passes through (2, 3) and (6, 11). What is its slope?

Choices: A. ½   B. 2   C. 4   D. 8

  1. Use change in y divided by change in x: (11 − 3) / (6 − 2).
  2. Calculate 8 / 4 = 2, choice B.
  3. Check the meaning: y rises 2 units for every 1 unit increase in x.

Choice A reverses rise and run. Choice C uses only the change in x. Choice D uses only the change in y. Explaining those errors is more useful than memorizing “B.”

This is an original practice example, not a Canvas assessment question or a measured test of the extension. Try another pair of points to check that you understand the method.

Where to find Canvas quiz answers and feedback

For an official review of a completed quiz, open Quizzes in your course, select the quiz and view the available attempt or results. What you can see depends on your instructor’s settings.

Classic Quizzes

Results can show your responses and, when enabled, correct answers. If grades or correct answers are hidden, the review view is limited. See Canvas’s Classic Quiz results guide.

New Quizzes

Open an attempt from the attempt history to see available results. Instructors can hide questions, scores, correct-answer indicators and feedback. See Canvas’s New Quizzes results guide.

When results are unavailable, ask your instructor which review material you may access. An extension cannot legitimately change release settings or supply a hidden answer key.

Fix common setup and answer problems

ProblemWhat to try
No on-page help appearsConfirm the extension is enabled and allowed on the course site. Open the side panel and consult the setup guide. School-managed browsers may restrict extensions.
The answer addresses the wrong questionInclude the full prompt, all choices and the passage or figure. Check for “not” or “except.”
A graph or equation is misreadUse a clear image with every label visible. Ask the helper to transcribe the values first.
The explanation conflicts with feedbackCheck numbers, units and question version. Ask which assumption led to the result, then take the disagreement to your instructor if unresolved.

Keep a short list of mistakes and the rule behind each correction. Use it to make flashcards or a practice quiz before your next assessment.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free Canvas quiz solver extension?

Apex Vision AI is free to install and starts with 30 free requests, plus a refill every 12 hours. No card is required. Use it on practice and homework where assistance is allowed. Paid plans add capacity.

Does Apex work with every Canvas quiz?

Page layouts, question types, permissions and school restrictions vary. On-page controls may differ. Include the complete problem in the side panel or image tool when needed, and verify that the helper read it correctly.

Can a Canvas solver reveal hidden quiz answers?

No. An AI explanation is generated from visible or supplied material; it does not retrieve an instructor’s hidden answer key. Review access is controlled by course settings.

Can Canvas detect an AI extension?

Do not assume use is invisible. Course rules, browser controls and proctoring arrangements differ. Follow the assessment instructions. Apex’s policy prohibits use during proctored assessments or to bypass security controls.
